It is a department of livestock and agricultural economy, in which cocoa farming is promoted as crop of renovation and food security. The cocoa of Meta is recognized for its quality, value generation and social impact. It stands out in national and regional competitions as Cacao de Oro 2021, positioning itself as a fine flavor and aroma cocoa.

In October 2018, the WORKAKAO Cooperative is formed, composed of 5 organizations in the Meta region, visualizing and directing its actions towards the generation of value, promoting social welfare, solidarity economy and competitiveness, under criteria of solidarity, environmentally sustainable and equality between women and men. They have other lines of business such as the Aromas of Ariari Vivarium and two cocoa processing plants.

COCOA ORIGIN META

Sweet and caramelized nose of low intensity. In the mouth it is very harmonious and fruity, with notes of wild strawberry, honey and ginger. Note: Sensory evaluation of the FEAR 5 cultivar worked at the mill.
